Description
Taiga is a sweet and meaty tri-coloured (green, yellow and pink) oxheart slicing tomato with a very small core. Wispy potato-leaf plants allow the best airflow to keep disease at bay in humid conditions. Chefs drool over this one for plate presentation and the excellent flavour.
“From the True north series, sibling to midnight Sun, Taiga has exceptional flavour, rich and tangy sweet with the same fruity texture. Indeterminate, midseason, wispy potato leaf vines. Taiga is the Russian word for the Boreal or “snow forest” that covers much of Canada” – Karen Olivier
These indeterminate (vining and bearing fruit continuously, until the frosts) plants, require trellis support. Vining tomatoes are a great way to get lots of fruit in a small growing space.
Taiga is part of Karen Olivier’s True North Series which includes: Midnight Sun Indeterminate Slicing Tomato Seeds, Polaris Indeterminate Tomato Seeds, Chinook Indeterminate Tomato Seeds, Tundra Indeterminate Tomato Seeds and True Colours Indeterminate Tomato Seeds. Midnight Sun is the most beautiful, 2nd for taste. Taiga is first for taste. True Colours is the highest yielding. Chinook and Tundra have such great texture. All are Oxhearts ,other than Polaris.
