Save Your Seeds.
NEW: Spring & Fall 2024
2-hour Farm-Experience
Curious about seed production? Want to save your own seeds? Join Erika Clarke on her farm, Sow Local Seeds, where she grows vegetable, herb and flower seed crops.
Tour the gardens, greenhouse, grow shed and storage facility to understand how your seeds make it from the plants into the packets.
Participate in traditional seed cleaning techniques to appreciate the demonstration of modern equipment.
Discuss organic growing, seed saving and the cultural and historic significance of heirloom Nova Scotian varieties over treats and tea.
When you leave the farm:
- You’ll know which plants to save seeds from and how to harvest and store your seeds.
- We’ll send you home with a collection of Atlantic grown seeds and a list of resources to start you on the right track.
