When will the flower seed shop open?
The online seed shop opens each fall once flower seed harvests are complete, germination tests are done and inventory is calculated. Sweet Pea seeds are available late December 2025 and cut flower and tomato seeds are available early January 2926. The email list gets early access to the seed sale, then the public.
Do you ship flower seeds to the USA?
Yes! Unless things get worse with the tariffs, we will continue to ship flower seeds to the mainland USA and all Canadian addresses. In Canada, flat rate shipping (WITH TRACKING) is $15. To the USA, flat rate shipping is $25 (WITH TRACKING).
I want to learn to save flower seeds. Where do I start?
Hooray! To save seeds, start with an open pollinated variety (any of the seeds in our shop). Next, you’ll want to learn about cross-pollination, isolation techniques and how to identify mature seeds to collect. For a print resource, stay tuned for our flower seed saving book. For a quick read, here are some articles on seed saving.
When can I buy the flower seed saving book?
True-to-type: Saving and Selling Cut Flower Seeds for Profit and Joy will be available for pre-order in 2026, with the official release in september 2026. If you’d like a sneak peak, join the waitlist for the pre-order launch.
Is the farm open to the public? Can I come take photos or walk around?
The farm is the home of the Clarke family and is not open to the public. The occasional on-farm event is offered. To hear about the next one, join the email list. Thank you for respecting our space.
Is Erika available for speaking engagements and podcast interviews?
Yes! Erika has a full schedule but can fit in the occasional event if our values and goals align. Please request a media package here. Here’s where Erika is speaking next.
How do I sign up to your email newsletter?
You can sign up to our email list here for farm updates, events and our book pre-order
Do you sell cut flowers?
No. Sow Local Seeds is strictly a seed producing farm. We grow organic seeds on contract for another local seed company (Annapolis Seeds), for our own retail sales, for research projects like OSPREY (the Organic Seed Production Research on Economics and Yield), for the Seeds of Diversity community seed bank and for home use.
Are your seeds certified organic?
Almost! We’ve had our certified organic pre-inspection. Our official inspection is scheduled for June 2026. Our certification will be through EcoCert and we’re happy to provide information on growing practices.
