Description
Bright (almost pink) burgundy fruits hand in abundance on vining, regular leaf plants. Perfect slicing tomato to cover a whole slice of bread. Second place to Cowboy for flavour, but number one in yields. If you need a beefsteak to ripen in a short season, this one is great. 10% of your purchase goes to Karen Olivier, my cousin and breeder of this Canadian variety.
I grew One Trick Pony in the unheated greenhouse and in the field. Both were the first beefsteaks to ripen on the farm. They had the best yield as well.
Pictured are One Trick Pony tomatoes and a comparison photo of both One Trick Pony (above) and Cowboy (below). Photography is by Sow Local Seeds. Photo of the lone tomato in hand is by Karen Olivier.
This variety was grown out for seed production by Sow Local Seeds, in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Thank you for supporting local seed. 10% of your purchase goes to Karen’s breeding projects for northern tomato varieties suited to short and cold growing seasons.
